Moving Mountains

I know Heavenly Father's hand is at work in our lives. He has a great plan but sometimes can't get us to respond. I have noticed that it's the times in our lives when we have trials, when we're down and out, that we turn to the Lord and become closer to Him. Of course He wants us to always be close to Him so sometimes He gives us trials to remind us to look to Him. I told Clark that Heavenly Father will try to get through to us and is very persistent. He will start first with the still small voice, the Holy Ghost. It is a feeling in our heart, in our mind. A gently nudge. If we don't listen, He will throw pebbles at us. If we still don't listen, He tosses a few bricks in our way, then boulders, then mountains. He won't give up. We have to know that this is all for our good and He is trying to draw us near unto Him. I know that Heavenly Father has the power to move mountains but I never looked at it this way before. I think this is Clark's mountain!

Dear Clark, Rhonda, and Kristin:

I love each one of you so much.

Clark: I'm pulling for you with earnest endeavor every waking moment. I am constantly in prayer for you, as well as for all those who love you and are assembled for your care.

Rhonda and Kristin: You are bedside angels; and you bring with you such eloquence that I weep with empathy and appreciation each time I check Clark's blog for the latest news.

To all three: I wish I could do more to help ease your burdens. But for today, please tuck these uplifting words into your hearts:

"For surely I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord: plans for your welfare and not for harm,
to give you a future with hope."

Jeremiah 29:11

With abiding love,

Cheryl

What a beautiful scripture Cheryl. I was searching for one yesterday to post with this but couldn't find one that I felt fit just right. This is it! I printed it off as big as I could get it and we are putting it up in Clark's room. Thank you.

Good Morning Clark~

Well... I've seen you looking more chipper, but you are a sight for sore eyes, and it's good to see you doing so well considering your renegade liver!

For me living down here in St. George now and unable to visit, this blog is a God send, and I am full of gratitude for Kristin's efforts in creating it.

Hang in there, stay strong, and know that I love ya. My husband John is going to give blood this week! When you're back on your feet, I would like to pay a car payment for you... or whatever else will help you during your down time. Don't sweat the small stuff, just make friends with your new liver ;-)

Love & Good Thoughts,
Karla

That was a very insightful post Kristin. Thank you. I think that one thing that is so vital to remember is that Heavenly Father cares most about our spiritual wellbeing and that our physical wellbeing comes second to that. Not to say that our physical wellbeing is important, because it absolutely is.
If I may, I'd like to add another scripture, and really hope that it won't be taken out of context. Job 19:25-26, "For I know that my redeemer liveth, and that he shall stand at the latter day upon the earth: And though after my skin worms destroy this body, yet in my flesh shall I see God:" I hope that this doesn't sound morbid at a time like this. I'm confident that this liver transplant will go through successfully. But this scripture makes me think of Heavenly Father's main purpose for us. Not only is it to be resurrected with a perfect body, but also to return to his presence.
Clark, we're praying for you.
