First Report

A friendly call from the surgical nurse informed me that the incision has been made. It will look like a Mercedes symbol. A very large cut. Clark is doing well, the liver is a good match and the doctors are in good spirits. The nurse laughed and said "all is going well except we were just attacked by an Ipod". I asked what that meant? He said "Dr. Schwartz's Ipod is playing pretty loud". I replied, "that's good, we want him to be as comfortable as possible". He said the surgery began at noon, his next report will be at 2pm MST. Back soon.

That sounds great. I am still praying for you all. All my kids are also thinking of you. I called Robert last night and told him he is in Harrisburg now so he hadn't heard yet. Will keep checking on the updates. It is so nice that you do that so we can all know how it is going. Just know you are all in our prayers.

Speaking the word of the Lord to confirm and strength...Psalm 91

"He that dwelleth in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of The Almighty.

I will say of the LORD, "He is my refuge and my fortress: My God; in Him will I trust."

Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, And from the noisome pestilence.

He shall cover thee with His feathers, And under His wings shalt thou trust: His truth shall be thy shield and buckler.

Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; Nor for the arrow that flieth by day; Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; Nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday.

A thousand shall fall at thy side, And ten thousand at thy right hand; But it shall not come nigh thee.

Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold And see the reward of the wicked.

Because thou hast made the Lord, wich is my refuse, Even the Most High, thy habitation;

There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling.
For He shall give His angels charge over thee, To keep thee in all thy ways.

They shall bear thee up in their hands, Lest thou dash thy foot agaist a stone.

Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder: The young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under feet.

Because he hath set his love upon Me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known My name.

He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him."

Thank you, Lord, for the comfort of Your word. You are our refuge, indeed.

Amazing...

This blog and Kristin's efforts to share Clark's journey are a saving grace today, because those of us who cannot be there in person rely on these updates to know everyone involved in this miraculous event is safe, positive and peaceful. It is a very emotional and humbling day to be witnessing a miracle... and to see first hand the power of a families prayers in action!

I am praying for you all, and The Lord, I am sure, is amazed to be hearing from me so much!

Kate is also texting me moment by moment, and I am passing updates along the information highway as well!

The banner in the field is very moving, and glad the I-Pod is charged and ready, and a positive sign for sure that Clark had a good night! He's a strong young man.

God Bless all of you that I know are gathered there today (I can see your faces), and those of you I have not met yet.

Love,
Karla
