6:45 Report

Dr. said things are going okay, not well. They are having trouble attaching two vessels due to the different antomy of the two livers. Instead of attaching these vessels to each other, they may need to attach the vessel of the new liver to Clark's lower aorta or intestine. This is not common but they have experienced it before. For this reason they need more time than hoped. So again, we wait. The waiting room has been packed since early morning but by this hour of the day there appears to be only one other family waiting with us. Thanks for hanging in with us during the long, hopeful day. Keep fighting Clark!
Yesterday, Cate drew this drawing of the anatomy of the liver as she explained this exact situation. The two vessels they're referring to are in the center of this drawing, the artery and the bile duct.

We continue to pray and will continue to do so. He is such a fighter it seems. I don't think I have ever personally met him (maybe once), but if he is anything like you Rhonda he will keep on fighting and mostly likely wake up with a smile despite all that has gone on. I know the Lord is watching over you all right now. Thanks for keep us all posted, you have so many keeping you in their thought and prayers. I hope that you can feel all the love that we are sending your way.

"Rejoice in the Lord always: and again, I say, Rejoice. Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand. Be careful for nothing; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things." Philippians 4:4-8

Think on these things, Rhonda, Kristin and family...

Rhonda and family- thanks for the updates. The Aadlands and Heyns called tonight wondering how Clark is doing so I gave updated them with the info from the blog. They also offered their assistance with anything that you may need help with at home while you're gone. If you do need anything- be sure to call or email. We pray that Clark's strength shines through and the doctors are able to perform their miracle today. Thoughts and prayers go out to your family.

Hello again from Karla in St. George.

I came home tonight to over 40 individual emails in my INBOX from friends all over the U.S. wanting to know how Clark is doing today. I emailed everyone last night to let them know that Clark would be getting a new liver today!

This outpouring of love and prayers is so awe inspiring to me.

One gal asked me to forward the following message to you Rhonda (and family).

Please forward this to the family... I do not know you, but my God knows you! His name is Jesus Christ, and he will see you through the times of trial and tribulation that you are experienceing at the moment. Faith, Hope and Love are the 3 gifts that He gave us. Most take them for granted, but you are living, experiencing and surviving on them at this moment.

As I have never had an ailment like this, I cannot say I know how you or your family feel. Howerver, as someone with liver disease, I can sympathize. God Bless!

The interesting thing about Stacey is about 2-3 years ago Aaron Larson had a crew in Alabama working on a site, and their truck gave out. He went to the local dealership and bought a new truck on short notice. Stacey (above) helped Aaron with the paperwork and got him back on the road in record time. She and I became friends during the transaction and here she is 3 years later writing to ease your pain and make a difference.

I wrote the following back to her.

It’s been inspirational to read the Clark blog and watch this journey unfold… and to see my sweet daughter, Kate grow spiritually from the experience. I believe that is one of the gifts that we can take from this experience, a massive growth in faith!

It’s times like these that we realize and remember what truly makes us RICH in life. So grateful for the gift of your friendship and support Stacey, and your willingness to pray and make a miracle for someone you don’t know personally. Thanks so much!!!

Clark and Family... thank you for sharing this journey with all of us!

Rhonda, I have always known that you were special. Reading all the blogs and comments reminds me of so many times spent together. Please take Susi's advice to take care of yourself too. You are a great mom and a beautiful person inside and out and like the rose you and your family have shown me many layers of faith and love. Hang in there, rest and know that we are all with you in love and prayers.

I personally do not know Clark, but through my daughter Taylor (Classmate of Huxley) and my sister, Tory (classmate of Clark) I have gotten so emotionally attached to this story and fight these past 24 hours. I want you all to know Our Creator is a wonderful God and does miracles in front of us. He has sent an angel and I pray for each of you to feel His touch in this wonderous time.
