In A Slump

Clark has slept for days, all day and night. He continues to vomit frequently, daily. His spirits are way down. He has even turned off the TV the past three days, didn't even watch the Falcons play football this past weekend. They have started him on an anti-depressant to try lifting his mood again. Clark is loosing mass amounts of hair. Yesterday he pinched a chuck of hair off above his ear, reached over his bed and dropped it on the floor. His pillow is covered with hair. It is so sad. Last night he went for a catscan of his stomach to see why he is so nausea. I waited for results last night but they weren't in before I left the hospital. The doctors keep telling Clark that he IS getting better and he just needs to hang in there. One of the nurses told me they have done FOUR liver transplants since Clark's and all had gone right home afterwards. Clark was a strong and healthy young boy going into this. I'm sure anyone would get down after this long in the hospital and bump after bump. Keep Fighting Clark, Keep Fighting!

Clark, I carry you near my heart throughout each day, at home and at work, whispering prayers and conversing w/God for you and for Rhonda and family.

I am so astounded at what you've had to go through, and I know this is probably the hardest time of all, but do not give up when the WINNING PRIZE is in sight.

It's no surprise that you're hair is falling out and your exhausted after the war your body has been fighting, your diet, your meds, etc. Hang in there and know it's just gonna take one victory a day to get back to optimal health.

Love you like no other, and fight, fight, fight!

God Bless,
Karla

I'm a stranger to you; but I feel like I know you thru this blog. I check it daily before I pray for you. I pray for your strength - emotional & physical strength. I will continue to do so until you're home. Please don't be discouraged. You must keep up your fight. You've conquered SO much! And you've come so far. I'm sure you think that it's easy for us to send words of encouragement, as we continue on with our lives. But you weigh heavy on the hearts of many people right now...so life for many is not normal until you're home. I'll be praying for rays of sunshine to be sent your way. Don't give up the faith!

Clark, like many others you don't know me either, my mom is/was a friend of your moms and I went to school with your brother Ryan...you are a hero...you have made it so far, you can't give up, you have to keep on keepin on! I can sympathize with you that it must get boring in your room, can't go anywhere or do anything, but you are in a great place, with great professionals all around, the lord, and your wonderful mother. Take one day at a time, and before you know it you will be back to normal in no time. I am constantly thinking about you, for someone who doesn't know you, I feel like coming there and giving you the biggest hug ever! Hang in there bud! You can do it!!!!

Stay in the fight Clark. I know it seems things are going in slow motion and that you will never leave the hospital. You will though! You will not only leave that place but you will go home to your own bed and to your dogs and friends and have a blast. Don't dwell on what is happening now. Look at the future and think of that! All the great things you will be able to do once you are out of the hospital! =) You are so strong. *laugh* Clark, you are stronger than super man or any comic book hero. You are a true hero. Chin up!

Clark, when you aren't feeling strong enough to fight anymore, know that we are all battling for you. Rest, dear Clark when you feel the need and pick the battle back up when you are ready. You've been through so very much. It will...it WILL...get better and this experience will allow you to reach people that otherwise would have been unreachable. That must seem so far off right now that it is unimaginable. But, you'll get there. You can do this, Clark. I know you. I know the sort of person that you are and that you were raised to be. We love you more than words can express and each and every one of us is lifting you up in prayer without ceasing.

Clark, hair or no hair your still a very good looking guy! Don't let your hair bring you down, Wade looses his all the time...but shhh I didn't tell you that ;o)

You are in good hands and you ARE making progress, it might seem like an eternity now, but perseverance will pay off. Take it slow let your body heal and you will be up and going in no time....the body is an amazing thing give it time it will prove this to you.

Thinking of you....

Clark. You don't know me, nor have we ever met, but I have been following your blog ever since your transplant in early August. After reading your Mother's last post I felt as though the least I could do was reach out and say that you've been such a great inspiration! There are many, many people reading and thinking about you daily. Most of which you've never even met. You have touched the lives of SO many people through your drive and will to live. Hang in there Clark. And a HUGE thanks goes out to Mrs. Kimble for sharing Clark's story with the world. You are both thought about often are true modern day heroes!

Just doing my Daily Check-O-The-Blog!

Not quite sure at this writing if I am more touched and amazed by your courage, your Mom and sisters courage, candor, love and commitment, and diligent documentation on the blog, or by the amazing words spoken within the comments section each day.

I am humbled by the heartfelt words by family, and friends but most of all the Anonymous thoughts. There are now hundreds of pages documenting your journey!

I know your job is the hardest, but only a few pages to victory, Clark. You're ahead of the curve AND Bald is in this season ;-)

Keep your eye on the prize.

Hugs,
Karla
