"He gave me a tear."

Written by Amber Larson (cousin)

When Clark learned that he had to be hospitalized, he came into our house and asked us to take care of his dogs. Before he left, he gave me a hug and promised me that he would come back.

When he was visited at the hospital by Shane and Beth, he asked them why I hadn't come to see him. I was the only one who hadn't seen him. So I decided to go up on Wednesday, Aug 5th. Wednesday morning I was at work and Beth came in and told me that Clark's condition had worsened and he had to be induced into a coma. Beth and I got off work and picked up Shane, Alissa, and Alishah and headed to the hospital.

We arrived at the hospital and went to the 4th floor. As we went into the room to see him, he looked very fragile with all sorts of tubes. I walked up to him, held his hand, and started crying. I told him he had to come back cause he promised me he would. As I said that, a tear started in the corner of his eye and ran down his face.

I turned to Beth and said, "I know he can hear us. He knows we're here." We both cried together.

We pulled ourselves together before going to the cafeteria to meet the family. We walked in and I told them that "he gave me a tear." The tears started to come again. After anxiously waiting for a liver, we finally revived the news that they had found one. Tears yet again filled the room, but this time they were welcomed.

It's hard to think someone had to die for Clark to live but we are also grateful. We still pray every night for him to recover and he WILL come home.

We love you Clark!

Clark...they say it takes 21 days to develop a habit. For more days than 21, my first action in the morning and my last at night is to check this blog for news regarding your progress. (And I check it many times in between.)

So Clark, you are now one of my habits!

My prayers and fasting for you have become very specific....to get your incision closed.

I'm encouraging all of our family and friends to join in a special fast for you starting Monday (9/7) at 6:00 pm and ending on Tuesday (9/8) at 6:00 pm.

We invite all to join us.

Everyone wants Clark to be healed. Let's exercise the only power we have to help him!

Invite everyone you know to join with us. Every prayer and every sacrifice counts.

In large numbers and with strong conviction, the Lord will hear our prayers. With united faith and sacrifice, we can move mountains!

Clark knows the power of fasting and prayer. It will give him great encouragement to know many people petitioning the Lord in his behalf.
If you want to, post a message letting him know you are participating.

Clark, I fully expect that you will be healed. After many of us join together, supplicating the Lord on your behalf, your condition will take a giant leap forward.

Keep fighting! Heavenly Father has the power to heal you. I know He will!

******************

If you are not familiar with fasting, there are many references in the Bible. Here are a couple scriptures that show this pattern of worship in both the Old and New Testament.

Esther 4:16
Mark 9:29

It works like this:

Before eating our evening meal on Monday night (about 6pm), we will offer a special prayer for Clark -specifically that he will be healed enough that his incision may be closed.

Consume no food or water (or only water depending on your physical activity level) until the evening meal on Tuesday night. If you are unable to fast (because of medications or other health conditions) you may limit your diet so that you are sacrificing something.

Throughout the fast, prayers are offered in Clark's behalf.

Before breaking the fast on Tuesday (about 6pm), a ferverent prayer is offered asking Heavenly Father to pour out His healing power upon Clark so that his incision may be closed.

If Clark's incision is closed before or during the fast, offer thanksgiving and gratitude for the blessing. And pray that he will steadily progress back to good health.

Dearest Clark & family,
Life is full of challenges. God knows about them as he planned all of them. Bobby is also facing another one.He had prostate cancer this year & beat it. Now it is lymphoma. WE have been reading the verse of the day from Air1. They all pretain to praying. Today's verse is from 1 Thess. 5:16-18 "Always be joyful. Never stop praying. Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you who belong to christ Jesus."
We know you can beat it & get well. Our prayers daily for you & your loved ones.God does miracles.
Love, Blessings & hugs to you all.
Bobby & Claudia Mills
