Run Run Fast As You Can, You Can't Find Me I'm A Transplant Man

Clark is going to move out of this hospital as fast as he moved in. Kristin and I spent the morning with my sister in law, Illa Larson, baking home made bread. Just as I was getting ready to come to the hospital, Clark sent me a text telling me that he had already moved to the fifth floor, room eight. WOW! He said they took his drains out, did a swallowing test and will soon begin him on small meals (still no ice cream, can you believe it?) He text me that his room was great because it had a plasma TV and a DVD player. Then another text followed saying that there was no restricted visitation hours, more than two people can come in the room and kids could also come in. Do you think Clark has been lonely? THEN, his final text was, "Mom, they have a couch that makes into a bed". I guess that is a lot better than his last offer in his previous room which was a recliner that I refused. From my understanding, Clark will be moved to a rehab room tomorrow and I'm not prepared to spend the night tonight, but I promise I will stay in the hospital with you one of these nights Clark. I'm so thankful for the nice room Kristin and Kellen have provided me with since I came to Utah, it is hard to give it up.

If anyone plans to visit Clark over the weekend, you should check at the front desk to find him because he is definitely moving about the hospital on a scavenger hunt, looking for the front door. Soon enough he will find it. Dear Lord, we do give thanks and appreciation for watching over this dear child and promising him another chance at life. Clark has endured many tender days in thy care. Our thoughts and prayers continue to be with the donor family, we will never neglect thy gift. We pray for their comfort and peace. We soon hope to let them know of our love for them and because of them, Clark is alive today.

Great news! You look better and better everyday, Clark. Wish we were there, we'd definitely be in to visit you often. Hope your view is as good as the one in Intermediate ICU! But, even more, I hope you are so busy with rehab and company that you don't have time to look out the window.

Now, about that post you promised.....

So great to see your progress. Thanks for keeping us updated, Rhonda.

Have a great day! Love ya all!

Wow Clark... you got sick fast and you're getting well enough to go home FAST! You're moving around more than a doctor making morning rounds. FANTASTIC!

Just to clear things up, I am the Karla from St. George (and Kate's Mom, and Clark's retired co-worker, and Eric Larson's mother-in-law)that wishes she weighed 138, and also the Karla that thinks April ROCKS for gambling and winning the big bucks, AND the Karla that has committed to buy Clark a Juice Machine and an Ice Cream maker. From now on I will sign off as Karla in St. George to minimize the confusion. Who is this "other" lovely Karla, I am wondering?

Well, Keep on Keepin on Clark, and the next time I'm in SLC, I'll get my runnin shoes on and come find ya!

God is GOOD !!!

Love from Karla in St. George

Good morning, Clark. Hope you rested well last night and will have a lot of company this weekend.

It's been rainy and quite chilly here. Must admit, I'm pretty happy about the rain to soak our raspberries before the freeze. Tap water just doesn't nuture plants the same as rain.

Thinking 'bout you all the time and am glad for your progress. Have a great day. Catch 'ya tomorrow.

Outstanding news...Rhonda, I am so sorry I havent posted for awhile..I hope that you are taking as good of care of YOU as you are of Clark.

Clark, I hope that I get the chance to meet you when you return to SD.

I had the chance to get to know Myls and Wyatt and I feel I know you already because of them.

You have a wonderful family and I also know Bart Moeller through school. He thinks the world of you too.

Keep fighting, there is light at the end of the tunnel. Be strong and keep God close.

Hey Clark. It's a brand new week again. Hope your weekend went as fast as mine did.

Going home must be getting closer and closer each day. Looking forward to hearing about your moving day!

Still thinking about you and praying for your continued recovery!

Good morning, Clark.

Last night, I came across more useless information and thought I’d share. Did you know there used to be a tax on playing cards? But, only the Ace of Spades was subject to the tax. So, many people bought 51 cards to avoid paying the tax. Since most card games require 52 cards, these people were thought to be stupid because they weren’t “playing with a full deck”. Now you know the rest of the story.

Hope all is well. Have a great day!

Good morning. Just a short note this morning to let you know we continue to think about you and your family. And, we pray for your continued recovery.

Found some interesting words to ponder today: "How far you go in life depends on your being tender with the young, compassionate with the aged, sympathetic with the striving, and tolerant of the weak and strong. Because some day in life, you will have been all of these.

Have a wonderful day!

Dearest Clark, Rhonda, and Kristin:

I've been one of the more silent commenters on the blog--but I've been intensely involved behind the scenes. I just want to take this opportunity to thank all of those who wrote comments all along and who faithfully continue to buoy you up with their words of love and encouragement.

I wish we could read a blog of prayers that have been sent Heaven-ward in your behalf! So many known and unknown prayer warriors have been upholding you with their faith and pleadings all these weeks and months, and I want to honor them in this writing. Surely, their prayers have reached the Throne of God, and He has lifted you from the depths of pain and despair which beset you for so long. I am so grateful to these fine people, but of course, especially to Father in Heaven. Praise and Glory be His forever! Thank you, Gracious Lord!

I am grateful to the brave and tenacious medical staff who did for you all that was in their power and knowledge. They left their marks on you, for sure, but you can show these scars as a witness of your faith, humility and strength and as a trophy to The Lord for pulling you through this.

Clark, I try to look into your eyes whenever I can via the pictures on the blog. I am delighted to see the spark of life shining again. It will grow brighter and brighter, as will your future days and years.

I am so proud of you, Clark! I cannot express adequately my awe at what you have endured and survived; I cannot tell you how much you have taught me and all of us about undergoing affliction with the most humble of spirits.

Rhonda and Kristin: I am sure that you have earned your places as Recording Angels in Heaven. Your writings have been a vital healing agent. They have captured the good, bad and ugly. They have allowed us to experience vicariously the sufferings and victories of Clark's hospital journey. They have enabled us to be with him and you through the stresses, the tears, the pains, the joys, the dancing, the laughter, and the celebrations. Your words, pictures and music have given us reason to grieve and cry, to laugh and dance, and to fast and pray with intensity. They have helped us experience both hell and heaven. Thank you so much for your honesty, openness, eloquence, and love. Thank you for your many sacrifices. Thank you for your superior example of family devotion and love. Thank you for busting open the doors of Clark’s room large enough to encompass the world! Among us are untotaled numbers of well wishers, prayer warriors, and even awestruck fans!

I send you to each of you today my deep love, my sincere respect, and my warmest congratulations.

I love you!

Hi Clark. Hoping each day is a new and better adventure as you rehab and head for that front door.

As I said before, if you need a break from the cold weather, the guest house down here in St. George is your's for the asking for you and Hemi and Bentley. Great place to enjoy the nice weather, fresh air and great hiking.

You're in thoughts and prayers each and every day.

Love and Good Thoughts,
Karla in St. George

Hi Clark! It's Friday already, again. Are you looking forward to a weekend of football? Better get your fantasy football players picked.

Since the Vikings played the Packers last Monday there was a lot of football talk this week. It was kind of like a mini-Super Bowl around here with parties and bantering. I watched a little of the game. Seems like Favre still has it even though he's an ancient 40 years old (in football years).

Hope you are busy working to build up your muscles eacg day and will be throwing the football around with your buddies soon.

Have a great day!

Happy Saturday from Snowy North Dakota! That's right, it's snowing here. Yesterday morning, we had a mini-blizzard for about an hour. It's been flurrying on and off yesterday and today. Yuk!

When I came home from work last evening, my car thermometer said 28 degrees. Temps were in the teens overnight. St. George is sounding pretty good!

Hope you aren't tired of me posting to the same blog, over and over, but I want you to know that you remain in my thoughts and prayers daily.

Oh....did I mention that I'm still waiting for that post you promised? :) Maybe you noticed that I'm holding the BBQ sauce as ransom. :)

Just kidding, I'm planning to pick up the goods and ship it to Kristin's house today. I meant to do it all week, but spent every free (non-work) minute tiling our kitchen backsplash after new countertops were installed. Last night, I finished grouting and got all the mess cleaned up. So, the house is back to normal after a week of complete chaos. Yeah!

Wish we were there so I could stop and check in on you. I expect you've made significant progress since we've last seen you. Any day now, you'll probably be going home.

Know that you are loved by many and have a great day!
